"Master Mom" is how Tzu Chi people address
Master Cheng Yen's mother, Mrs. Yueh-Kui Wong.
Originally, Master Mom was against her daughter's
becoming a nun. Later on, after the Master's persistent and earnest
pleas, she finally consented. After the Tzu Chi Foundation was
established, Master Mom became a Tzu Chi commissioner for central
Taiwan. She does everything she can to support the Tzu Chi missions.
