Long-term relief aid serves impoverished and
needy people that require care and assistance over extended periods
of time. Each month, the Tzu Chi Foundation provides the material
assistance necessary to help them stay warm and well-fed, and
makes regular follow-up home care visits.
The recipients of long-term aid consist mainly
of the disenfranchised elderly, the sick, the desolate, and the
orphaned.
The course of long-term aid provision is as
follows:
1. Discovery of the individual case
2. Initial investigation and care visit
3. Verification of need and eligibility and delivery of relief
4. Continual case monitoring and regular follow-up
