"Gratitude clients" are people who
need Tzu Chi's assistance because of various changes or circumstances
in their lives.
Master Cheng Yen says, "Be grateful toward
those who accept our help, for they give us opportunities to practice
charity. Why? We often say that good people do good deeds, good
deeds are for good people to do." It is only because someone
has encountered difficulties that we are given the opportunity
to help them. We can take that opportunity to give our love and
fulfill our capacity for saving lives and doing good. Therefore,
we refer to these people as "gratitude patrons."
