Chi Heads

Tzu Chi commissioners strive for neatness and
uniformity in their hair styles. They all comb their hair back
flat and tie the ends in a bun, using a black hair net and adding
a dark blue lotus flower on top. This hairstyle is dignified and
elegant. It not only represents the dignified, gentle spirit of
Tzu Chi people, but also the class and elegance of Chinese culture.
The male members of the Tzu Chi Faith Corps
all wear crew cuts to represent their spirit and commitment to
hard work and endurance. Because the hairstyles of both men and
women are worn to represent the spirit of Tzu Chi, they are known
as "Tzu Chi Heads."
