Tzu Chi has been given ten hectares
of land to build the Great Love Village

Death and injury numbers continue to
rise as aftershocks continue to hit El Salvador. Within the
past month, El Salvador has seen several earthquakes measuring
over 6 on the Richter scale. From an aerial view, one sees that
landslides have collapsed the one last road into this nation.
The sounds and sights of non-stop emergency rescues from the
air and on the ground seemingly worsen the gloomy atmosphere.
Series of aftershocks force survivors to give up their hopes
of rebuilding their homes. Under these gruesome conditions,
Tzu Chi for the second time, distributes relief supplies to
everybody. "We have supplies for 1000 persons, or enough
for support about 200 families for one month."
Tzu Chi's North American International
Medical Association has also dispatched a team of trained personnel
to care for the injured citizens of El Salvador. In addition,
Tzu Chi has been given 10 hectares of land to build the Great
Love Village. Some 1300 housing units for the homeless are to
be completed by May when the rainy season starts.
