In less than one year since its opening in
August, 2000, the Tzu Chi Dalin Hospital has been upgraded and
certified as a regional hospital by the government's Central
Bureau of Health Insurance. Starting from May 1, the public
will have better access to the health care services provided
by this hospital.
Ever since the Dalin Hospital first started
its services nine months ago, daily outpatient visits have exceeded
original estimates. Without the seamless teamwork of medical
personnel and volunteers, it would not have been possible for
the hospital to earn recognition as a regional hospital in such
a short period of time. Superintendent Dr. Lin Chin-lon commented,
"Besides having the most modern and efficient medical technology,
Dalin Hospital also maintains a high standard of service."
Through ten years of preparation for building
a hospital in this small town, staff members have worked on
not just the technical side of health care, but also on elevating
the quality of service. "Now with its new level of recognition
from the government, Dalin Hospital is working on adding a full
spectrum of services appropriate to a regional hospital, including
using nuclear medicine for physical examinations," said
Dr. Lin.
While maintaining its technological development
and service, Dalin Hospital is planning to provide organ transplants
as well as developing a department in preventive medicine. Thus
the hospital will be a complete health care resource center
that can respond to the medical needs of residents in the Yunlin,
Chiayi and Tainan areas.
