Christmas party
brings cheer to the blind
NEW JERSEY-New Jersey volunteers
host a Christmas party for the blind.
The Tzu Chi New Jersey office has long been
working hand-in-hand with the Foundation for the Blind. With
Christmas approaching, volunteers were invited to a Christmas
party both to enjoy a great time and to help out by ushering
the friends at the foundation to their seats.
Although invited as guests, the volunteers
also acted as hosts, helping with the seating, drinks, and
lots more. An employee thanked the Tzu Chi volunteers for
their help while a life-time volunteer at the Foundation commented
on the joy of giving and how much the blind friends at the
center love this type of activity.
The theme of the party was music. When familiar
tunes were played, many people sang along. Throughout the
party, many came to say thanks. As for the Tzu Chi volunteers,
their thoughts coincided with that of the life-time volunteer.
Although the blind friends could not see
their own reflection, volunteers saw smiles that came from
the bottom of the heart.
