HUALIEN, Taiwan - The Tzu
Chi relief team returned from Iran on
January 11. Tzu Chi Foundation to plan mid- and long-term
aid programs for victims of Iran earthquake.
Since the return of its relief team
from Iran, Tzu Chi Foundation has been planning additional
assistance programs to the people of Bam, Iran. Mid-term goals
are building temporary housing and settling survivors. Long-term
plans include the reconstruction of schools and assistance
to orphaned children.
Fifty-two members of Ali's family
passed away during the earthquake. Another woman lost
over one hundred family members. Half of the population
of Bam did not survive the quake.
