Tzu Chi's Financial Assistance Reaches
12,600 Evacuees in Houston, Beaumont and Dallas
HOUSTON, Texas (SEPTEMBER 15, 2005) - Relief
efforts continue as Tzu Chi provides financial assistance
in the form of checks or gift cards to evacuees in Houston,
Beaumont and Dallas. More than 5,300 families—12,600 people—have
received assistance so far.
Families
receive more than immediate financial assistance at the George
R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. Tzu Chi volunteers
met with each family individually and personally delivered
the emergency cash gifts.
