Chinese New Year Came Early to Chinese
Malaysians
KLUANG,
Malaysia - An early Chinese New Year celebration livened up
an aid distribution conducted by Tzu Chi volunteers in the
Kluang community center.
The program was specially designed to create
an auspicious feel for the Chinese New Year. The center's
hall was decorated with red cloths, red fire crackers and
new-year flowers. The 200-some attendees from an assisted
living center enjoyed performances such as the lion dance,
Chinese New Year songs, dances and a play that introduced
the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac/calendar.
We wish you a very peaceful and blessed
new year
The statesman who was present commented
on how Tzu Chi helps those in need, regardless of race and
religion. He was surprised to discover that most Tzu Chi aid
recipients were Malay people.
At the end of the two and a half hour event,
every aid recipient received a goodie bag and every child
received a balloon. Everyone departed with blessings from
Tzu Chi volunteers. May everyone practice "Gratitude,
Respect and Love" during this new year so that our society
can be more peaceful.
Tzu
Chi volunteers sing a Chinese New Year song and wish
everyone a very happy new year.
