The best part of my trip to Fengtung
was the taking of this picture. On the right is Shu-mei
Yeh, the first Tzu Chi seed in Malaysia. On the left is
Master Cheng Yen's mother. She was overjoyed to see Yeh
and tried to hide her delight by covering her mouth with
her hands.
"We are a family. We live in different
countries, but we are all one family," Yeh said when
she came on the stage.
Master Cheng Yen's mother apologized
for her lack of formal education and that she could only
speak Taiwanese. She showed her gratitude to the overseas
Tzu Chi people, saying,"I am from Fengyuan, I came
here to see everyone, and for everyone to see me. The
funds you raised overseas were well spent in building
these schools. And look at this school, it is so good!".
Sister Yeh hoped that Master's mother
could visit Malaysia. But she said "I have to ask
Master, because she is so filial the she would be worried
about me flying."
With a big smile on her face, sister
Yeh told Master's mother that she would plead to the Master.
We all felt a lot younger on that day.
Whatever reflected on film reflected on my own mind and
soul.
