- NY volunteers headed to Elmhurst
Hospital and Downtown Hospital to care for the injured
- volunteers from NY Chapter and
Long Island Office went to a shelter in Manhattan
to care for 25 people displaced from their homes.
The volunteers gave out blankets, toothbrushes, and
toothpaste.
- delivered meals to rescue workers
and Salvation Army staff at ground zero

- assisted operations at the Family Assistance Center
located in the Armory; the Center requested on-going
help from Tzu Chi

- The Salvation Army notified Tzu Chi New York to
progressively pull out of the disaster area and requested
Tzu Chi New York's support in follow-up relief and
counseling.
- The NYC Family Assistance Center has relocated from
the Armory to Pier 94 at 54th Street and 12th Avenue.
