All Human Beings Must Activate Their Love

While injury and death tolls continue to rise three days after the disaster in New York, Master Cheng Yen has called on everyone to pray for the victims and their families. She hopes that the love and compassion of all people in the world will be activated to help survivors to a quick recovery.

Amid the roar of toppling buildings, rescuers from all over rushed inside to save lives without regard for their own safety. In these three days, hundreds of these brave rescuers have also perished. They are truly anonymous heroes who silently gave of themselves. Master Cheng Yen remarked, "These heroes that think only of saving lives and not of the danger they put themselves in are truly admirable. There are over 300 of them whose fate is unknown even now."

As the numbers of dead and injured continually rise, what we can do now is give our most sincere prayers and blessings to the families of the victims. We hope that the citizens of the world will join together and express their love. With their love, they can console injured souls and offer the most vital assistance. Master Cheng Yen further said, "Wherever you live, each of you can start to raise funds and send them directly to the US Main Branch, so that they can focus on the work of saving lives."

Master Cheng Yen has also continually called on everyone to activate their love and embrace the spirit of mutual assistance so that the victims of this crisis can quickly recover and rebuild.
