Journey to the West on the Silk Road
A photographic chronicle retracing Hsuan Tsang's heroic 7th century voyage

Most of the ruins in Nagarjuna-konda have sunk to the bottom of a reservoir because of a new dam. Only a few of them have been moved to a small island and restored to their original condition. The island can only be reached by boat and have unexpectedly become tourist attractions. (Photograph by Wang Jia-fei)
